Welcome Spring

We have been very happy to finally have some Spring weather around here. Jarrett has been loving being outside and often says, "shoes... shoes....outside" and leads us to the door. He doesn't quite understand how one day it can be nice enough to go out and play though and the next day it isn't.

On the nice days, we have spent some time in the backyard roaming around. We have also made a few special afternoon trips to the agricultural center and Oregon Ridge. Turns out, you can just walk into the barn whenever you want to visit the sheep and goats, which is now Jarrett's new favorite thing to do. He knows exactly where the sheep are, runs over and "baas" at them to say hello. He and Daddy also had a visit to the farm and got to see the chickens which aren't usually out.

Jarrett was thrilled with the sandbox at Oregon Ridge and didn't want to leave (which wasn't easy for me since he is quite heavy to pick up while pregnant and he now becomes a squirmy mess when he doesn't want to go somewhere). Fortunately, he spotted some stairs he wanted to climb up and down for a while. We stopped inside to wash our hands and visit the turtles too. He was fascinated by the giant bear and just kept saying, "Look! Look! Look!" He wanted to hug it but that was a no-no.

We also went to the Baby BSO again this month. I think that this was probably his favorite one so far. He was dancing the whole time and knew just what to expect. He sat right down in our laps and waited for the concert to begin.

We also went to Isaac's birthday party this month. Jarrett went on his first Easter Egg Hunt. He was pretty good at finding his eggs, but far more interested in running around with his friend. He also made himself right at home at Elizabeth's house and was running around playing with all the toys. He especially enjoyed the toy vacuum.

We had a nice little sprinkle for Baby Girl last weekend too at Bluestone (delicious). Jarrett was a real trooper. He hadn't had a nap but sat nicely at the meal and played with toys and talked to everyone. He had some time running around the restaurant with Aunt Jaina. Just as we were wrapping up though, he had enough and had a little breakdown but quickly fell asleep in the car.

We also had a Mommy & Son date for dinner one night. He is a pretty good dinner date and seems to like to eat at restaurants. We were just at Noodles and Company.

He is getting some molars in and has been a bit crankier than usual in the evening, making some long and exhausting evenings, but fortunately, he is still a pretty good sleeper. He has lots of new words: color (when he wants his crayons) cook (when he wants to stand in his learning tower and mix things) where's daddy or where's Gus (his toy bear) brush teeth (which he seems to want to do ALL the time- it's been a bedtime stalling tactic) ipad (yep...he likes his sesame street videos) put back (when he wants to put away a toy or clean up) water (this could be for a drink or just in the tub or a puddle) and quite a bit more. He learned a few more names: Olga (at daycare) Joshua and Jordan.

Three more weeks until we are a family of four!
