8 Weeks

Jarrett is now 8 weeks old!

But week 7 was a pretty exciting one and a busy week for Jarrett. We are finally getting a reaction smile from Jarrett. He loves to smile for us in the morning when he firsts wakes up. He then spends a good hour or so chatting away. So even though he probably had a few other smiling moments, we are declaring this week when he first smiled for us on cue!

My friend, Dawn, came to visit us on Thursday. We were so excited to have her. We've been friends since first grade but don't often get to spend time together, but Dawn made the trek from North Carolina to come meet Jarrett and to visit. Unfortunately, it was pretty hot while Dawn was here so we didn't get out much. Jarrett didn't mind- it meant more cuddles and attention for him! Harper was excited to have a new best friend for a few days as well.

We also had a visit from Aunt Pearl, Bryson, Jennifer and Robin.

Jarrett was ready for the Raven's game on Sunday, but as you can see, is visibly upset with the Ray Rice situation. He fell asleep during the game though.

Grandma Vicky bought Jarrett a sun hat while she was here. He's been wearing it on all our walks. I couldn't decide which picture was cuter so you get both!

We are still trying to figure out Jarrett's routines but every time we think we have it figured out he changes it up! He's averaging about 3 naps a day, but sometimes they are short and sometimes they last 2 hours (probably more if I didn't wake him up!). He has had a few more baths that didn't end in screaming, but I wouldn't say he enjoys them quite yet. The morning baths are more successful than the evening ones at this point.

Jarrett spent some time with Poppa Jacques and Momma Jackie yesterday while I had an appointment. I'm not sure who enjoys their visit more though, Harper or Jarrett! Jarrett enjoys being read stories and talking with Momma Jackie, and Harper anxiously awaits his game of fetch with Poppa Jacques.

Here's a quick video of Jarrett discussing some important matters with Mr. Lion. If the sound doesn't work try here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/40pamknqkbn5j4v/20140907_194603.mp4?dl=0
