15 Months

This last month has flown by. Jarrett turning 15 months old has come and gone and I never got around to updating!

At his 15 month appointment, we learned that Jarrett was 31 inches tall (average)and about 24 pounds (above average). He has mastered walking with a walker/wagon or holding our hands, but is still nervous about walking on his own. I noticed him practicing while standing near Harper's bed so he has a nice, soft place to land. I am pretty sure he is going to get it any day now. Speaking of Harper, they have become best buds...or not. It's hard to tell. Jarrett picks on him and pushes him off his bed so  he can lay down. But he also brings him toys and throws him the ball.

Not being able to walk hasn't stopped him from getting into just about everything. He is very busy! He loves to open all the cabinets, go through our bags, and pull things out of drawers. Nothing left out is safe any longer! Jarrett is quick to show us which of our child safety devices is faulty or left undone! He has tried them all out.

His two top teeth are almost all the way in now. Other than a few fussy moments, he hasn't really been bothered by them at all. He loves to brush his teeth also.

He still loves being outside. But now rather than being in his swing, he prefers the sandbox. He also yells, "Bubbles!" and points at his bubble machine, which he has figured out how to turn off and on to his delight.

We've been working on some hand/eye coordination....or just trying to keep him occupied with things like this pom-pom push activity that he seems to like. We also did some coloring, but mostly he wanted to eat the crayons.

We have also still been trying to go on a daily walk. Sometimes this means putting on his pj's before the walk so that he can just plop into bed when we get home.

He is still sleeping well and eating well! We still wake up to him singing or playing in his crib. He has formed an attachment to some of his stuffed bears, one in particular that he always looks for. We bought a back-up just in case!

He has a new interest in slides. Mostly, climbing up them. We check out the neighbor's old slide every now and then, and today he was climbing on the slide at daycare when I got there.

He also loves play kitchens. We don't have one, but plan to make one this weekend out of an old stool. Although he is perfectly content just clanging the pots and pans around and stirring.

He still is a dancing fool. He dances to music everywhere. Half the time we don't even hear the music in a store but he does and gets his groove on. Daycare keeps telling me what a good dancer he is too!

We went out with some friends to a place nearby on a Friday night and Jarrett was a trooper. He hung out for a long time playing with his pop bubble book and just looking around. The Raven's mascot, Poe was there. Jarrett was having fun watching him from far away, but didn't appreciate being brought up close for a picture. He popped him on his big beak!

We stopped by Valley View Farms one day to pick out some pumpkins for the house too. We have had a lot more fall fun lately, but I will put that in the next post!
