Jarrett is now 15 months old and has seemed to learned a lot this month. He finally mastered walking and is non-stop. It's hard to get him to sit and read a book or play with a toy. He'd much rather just walk around the kitchen island over and over again.
He now has 4 big teeth that he is definitely taking advantage of. I've had to add some more variety to his meals as of lately as I think he is getting a bit tired of some of my go to meals. His largest meal of the day is lunch, as he is often too tired and cranky to eat much dinner. He also gets a really big kick out of calling his friend Harper over at dinner to share his meal. One day he actually asked for more after he finished, only to then call Harper over to share it with him. Speaking of food, Jamal took Jarrett to come visit me at work a couple weeks ago and they went to Mission BBQ while they waited for my lunch break. Turns out, Jarrett was a big fan. I had to see it for myself, so we went last night for dinner and Jarrett enjoyed his first kid's meal. And sure enough, Jarrett devoured the ribs like it was something he'd done many times before...hmmm.... not to mention a few fries and a gigantic big boy cup of milk. (Maybe walking creates a big appetite!) He also seemed to enjoy their music choice and danced the whole time he ate.
One of the highlights so far this month has been taking Jarrett to the Baby BSO at the Myerhoff. We met Elizabeth, Mike and Isaac there one morning and we knew Jarrett would like it (music and all) but we had no idea how much! When you first get there, they have activities set up. Jarrett did a little "coloring" and then went upstairs to try out some instruments. He really enjoyed playing all the instruments. (So much that I set all his instruments up on a table when we got home so he could continue!)

Then we made our way downstairs for the concert. Jarrett was dancing and very enthusiastically clapping along the whole time. He even sang a bit when they were making letter sounds. He was very fun to watch and he enjoyed having his friend there with him to share his snacks and toys with.

We also hit the zoo up again one day. Jarrett was excited to see that the chimpanzees were out playing. He went up real close to the glass and one came by and touched the glass and startled him a bit. He also practiced walking with Daddy. I took him on the carousel, but it was not a hit. :(
Jarrett spent some time cooking at his little stool we converted into a space saving kitchen. Despite it's small size, it seems to work for him! He loves to whisk and then give us a taste of whatever he is whipping up. He also likes to give his stuffed animals a taste and makes a really cute eating sound when he does.
Since it's been ice out, we've had some more playtime in the yard. The sandbox is still a hit, as are his bubbles.
Jarrett continues to be a great sleeper (11+ hours a night) and a great eater. He usually gets up with me to eat breakfast and then hangs out with Daddy when I leave, but this week, with all his walking, he has been asking to go back to bed. He waves to us and then points to his crib/room to be put back in his bed. Sometimes he just wants to hang out in there and read. He also has been asking to go to bed at night by going over to the steps and whining until we let him crawl up and go to his room.
We had a photo shoot with Debbie last weekend as well. Here are a few sneak peaks! Jamal isn't pictured yet as he can't seem to pick the pictures he likes!
Jamal and Jarrett also went for a trial class at "My gym" last week. Jarrett seemed to enjoy it, but it was during naptime so he was a bit cranky. He especially loved crawling around on the mats.
We are looking forward to some extra time together over Thanksgiving, as I often feel like I don't get to see Jarrett when he's happy and playful during the day, but get the "ready to go to bed" Jarrett in the evening. We are hoping to spend some time enjoying some holiday lights and festivities!
