JARRETT
We didn't have much planned for Jarrett's 2nd birthday. Jamal had to work, and it was super hot outside so I loaded up the double stroller and took the kids to the mall. Jarrett had a birthday cookie and ran around the kids play area. Not overally exciting, but he seemed satisfied. He also had a little party at daycare the day before. The following Friday we took Jarrett to Port Discovery. He had a lot of fun running around the place. He especially liked the water room, the car, the music room and the little cafe. There were A LOT of kids there that day so at times it was a bit overwhelming.
Last night as a 1 year old!
He got some cars for his birthday. Harper thought it made the perfect place to sleep.

That evening, we ordered some pizzas and invited a few family members over to have a small celebration. I made Jarrett some cookie monster cupcakes, but he only wanted to eat the cookies. :/ Oh well. He loved his Elmo balloon and all his presents. He was so excited to open them, look at the cards, and even remembered to thank everyone. It was obvious he knew everyone was there for him. He had a good time running around the house and playing with everyone, giving hugs and high fives.
At two years old, Jarrett weighs about 32 pounds. Not sure how tall he is, but he seems to be going through a growth spurt. He is still wearing 2T for the most part but fits comfortable in a 3T t-shirt as well. The pants still seem a bit long. He takes one nap a day, which can range from 1-3 hours, Sometimes I think he would even sleep 4 if we let him. depending on what we did the morning before! He still sleeps happily in his crib from about 7pm until 5 or 6pm.
He has been really into playing "pretend" with things. He still carries his bear, "Gus" every where and has started asking Gus questions like, "Gus...want to walk?" and then he holds his paw and makes him walk. Or he asks Gus if he wants to read a book, and will sit down and read to him. He also likes to put Gus in June's carrier, swing and rock n play.
He also started making funny voices. He has a fake voice he uses for June when he pretends she says, "Hi!" but also has this deep weird voice he uses for other things like fake laughs and shouting, "Elmo!"
He loves trains, cars, and puzzles. He likes to watch Peppa Pig and Dinosaur Train on the IPad. He always asks to listen to "Wheels on the Bus" or "Yeti" (which turns out is the Wood Brothers... we have no idea how he arrived at that). When he hears the Wood Brothers on the radio, he can pick them out and even says, "Yeti!"
JUNE
June has turned 3 months. She is such a happy baby! She smiles and laughs all the time. She likes to bounce in her chair and loves to be carried and held (way more than Jarrett ever did!) She is happy to sleep in the car and has been a pretty good sleeper all around. She is currently sleeping from about 8-5am with one wake up usually (although last night she didn't wake up at all!) She is still sleeping in our room. She is such a quiet little sleeper, we are hesitant to put her in the other room. (Not to mention it is just easier to have her right next to me!) She is wearing 3 month clothes right now but some are still too big. I am not sure about her height and weight right now but we will find them out soon at her 4 month appointment. She blows lots of bubbles and drools like crazy. She can roll from her stomach to her back sporadically, and can roll onto her side from her back, but hasn't made it all the way over yet.
She loves Jarrett and laughs whenever he is around. He likes to tickle her feet and bring her stuffed animals and blankets. She often has them covering her head thanks to him.
