We spent July continuing our summer fun, although Daddy had to go back to work, so we had to find some activities that were easier to tote around 2 kids. We had a few playdates with some friends. Jarrett had a playdate with a bunch of my friends from school and their kids at Abi's. He loves their playroom and all their toys and was a big fan of the backyard and playset. He climbed up the ladder to go down the slide and scared me a bit, but I was wearing June in my wrap so there wasn't much I could do to stop him!
Jarrett also went with Jamal to have a playdate with Kanaan. Of course he spent most of the time driving the little car.
I also visited Megan and Emily from work, with their 2 new babies Ivy and Gracie. June will have quite a few girls her age to play with!
We also met Heidi and Calvin at Oregon Ridge Nature Center. Both the boys were a bit tired as we roamed about and I was chasing Jarrett while carrying June (thank goodness Heidi was there to help!) We had a picnic lunch and got to see an opossum on a leash, that neither boy was interested in petting. I am not sure why we don't have any pictures of the two of them!
Jarrett also had his first hair cut this month. It wasn't planned. I was getting my hair cut which was long overdue and June was having a tough time at home. The salon was empty so Maria told me to tell Jamal to bring the kids by and drop June off. She cleaned up Jarrett's curls while they visited and June stayed for the rest of the time with me (after having an epic blowout that Daddy had to clean up back at the car!)
We also went to farm sprouts again, and this time Jarrett learned about fruits and vegetables. He likes the activities, but still hasn't gotten the hang of sitting down and listening to the story or lesson. Hopefully before he goes to school?!?!?

For the 4th of July, we headed to Aunt Chris's house for a cookout. Jarrett enjoyed running around and playing. He also quickly figured out how to get his own lemonade from cooler. He was quite giddy on sugar by the time we left! June slept through most of the festivities.
Finally, just a few pictures from around the house.
