June is now 2 months old (10 weeks to be more specific) and at her appointment was weighing in at 10 pounds 3 ounces, which is in the 10 percentile for weight. The doctor was happy with her growth curve and said she was looking good! She is *finally* becoming a little bit more predictable which has made it a little easier to get out and do things. She wakes up around 5:30 or 6:00 (pretty much depending on what time she hears Jarrett on the monitor- who continues to be an early riser). So everyone's day starts real early around here! She takes a little morning nap around 8 and the rest of the naps are pretty sporadic throughout the day. She surprised us by rolling over during her tummy time at 8 weeks. Just from her tummy to her back. She has lots of big smiles for everyone now (especially Jarrett) and makes the cutest little cooing noises! She is pretty laid back through most of the morning but around 5:00 starts to want to constantly be held or fed. Wearing her and trying to make sure she doesn't go to long in the morning without eating has helped a bit. She very rarely cries unless she is super hungry or tired. She's been going to bed between 8 and 10 at night and wakes up 1 or 2 times during the night to eat. She is still sleeping in our room as she is so quiet...even when she wakes up.
Jarrett seems to be getting bigger and bigger...and stronger. We have to be careful with June because he is always trying to pick her up or play with her. He loves to tickle her feet and make her hand wave but can sometimes be a little rough. He loves to lie on her playmat (with or without her). He also always wants her to lay down with him in his crib when he goes to bed. I put her swing in her room so she can swing during Jarrett's nighttime routine and books before bed.
Jarrett has been talking up a storm and has been learning the names of all sorts of new things. We have been pointing out and identifying all sorts of things we see outside and in our books and they seem to be sticking.
We took advantage of Jamal being off for a few weeks in June and went on a few family outings.
Longwood Gardens
June slept most of the day, but Jarrett loved Longwood as always. This time he was especially excited over all the fountains.
We have a family photo as well..but I can't seem to find it! Coming soon.
Oregon Ridge Music Festival- This was a free festival near our house. It was incredibly hot and humid so we didn't end up staying too long. Jarrett brought his ukulele and wanted to play along.
Farm Sprouts- The topics were seeds and bees.
Playdate with Isaac and Elizabeth at the Science Center (Jarrett was sooo excited to be here!)
Father's Day trip to the zoo.
Here are also a few pictures from last month's playdate with Isaac. They made clipboards for their daddies for father's day.
Agricultural Center Farming Festival
Finally- just a few random shots from the month.(Excuse my photo quality- my camera on my phone broke)
