May Wrap Up

May was a  busy month for us as we adjusted to being a family of four. We were fortunate to have some good weather and made every effort to still get out and about (although- this is a whole lot harder than is used to be!)

For mother's day, we packed a picnic and headed to the Agricultural Center where we like to hang out. Jarrett had fun running around and seems to love having picnic lunches! He hoped right up to the picnic table and sat patiently waiting for his lunch. The week before at farm sprouts focused on flowers so he also came home with a bouquet of tulips for me.

Aunt Chris, Crystal, Jordan and Jeanine also stopped by for a visit one day. Jarrett was happy to see Jordan and spent the whole time chasing her around and dancing.

Some of our other adventures included trips to a few playground Jarrett now loves the slide, but has no interest in the baby swing. But he will sit on my lap on the swing. We have also had to find a few activities to keep Jarrett busy at home during the day. He is quite the busy one!

Grams and Grandpa came to visit when Daddy went back to work. They helped around the house (lots of yardwork) and Jarrett was happy to have some new playmates.  (And I was happy have someone else hold June while she was screaming during dinner!)

We also all went to farm sprouts to learn about ducks and chickens. Jarrett's friend Isaac was there with his Daddy too.

June is now 6 weeks old and becoming more predictable with feeding and more alert during the day.  She has gained back her birth weight but still seems so tiny! I am guessing she is about 9 pounds at this point, maybe a little less. She still fits in newborn diapers and her newborn clothes but they are starting to get a bit snug. Jarrett loves to tickle her feet and gets upset when she cries. Daddy always says, "June... June" when she is crying so now that is what Jarrett does. Last night after he went to bed, he heard June crying, woke up and was standing up in his bed saying, "June...June" over and over again until I brought her in so he could see she was still alright. (Of course, he then wanted to get up and play... but that's another story.) He always asks where she is when he wakes up or if she is in another room. He likes to bring her bottles, pacifiers and blankets. (Unfortunately, he is a bit aggressive when doing this!)

She wakes up about 3 times between 10:00pm and 5:30 am to eat. Sometimes she goes back to sleep...sometimes she doesn't.(Jarrett has been getting up at about 5:30, so the mornings are a bit groggy)

Heidi and Amanda also stopped by to meet June this week!

We ended the month with a trip to Prigel Creamery for some ice cream and to visit the cows...which despite our best efforts, Jarrett referred to as sheep the whole time. "Hi Sheep...Baaaa."
