We have been quite busy the last couple months! We spent the latter part of November spending some time outdoors while we could. We went on a family hike at Robert E. Lee Park and Jarrett really enjoyed running around in the woods and jumping on the rocks and logs. Fortunately, it was also relatively stroller friendly, so June just rode along checking out all the sights.
We spent Thanksgiving at Aunt Lee's. Jarrett took a little time warming up to everyone (June is just happy if someone is holding her.) But, once he did, he was running around the house and playing with Malik and Bryson. We also made our own Thanksgiving dinner the night after so we could have some leftovers.
DECEMBER
After Thanksgiving, we were in complete holiday mode on the weekends. We saw Santa, visited train gardens, made the yearly trek to Longwood Gardens, checked out the Baby BSO Winter Show and much more!
Longwood Gardens: We decided to head to Longwood right after Thanksgiving before it got too crowded or too cold. We went a lot earlier in the day than usual, and it was perfect. We checked out the conservatory before it got too crowded, but we were still able to see the lights before we left. Both kids were wide awake and very interested in all the sights. Jarrett just loved the train garden this year. (We had a lot more great pictures but they seem to have been lost when transferring!)
Cookies: We made Christmas cookies of course. Jarrett was way more into it than I expected. He even got his stool and sat down next to the stove to watch them cook. As far as decorating, he just squirted frosting on one, said, "All done!" Then he grabbed it and ran off and ate it. We also made some sugar cookies which he enjoyed sprinkling lots of sprinkles on. Most recently, we made some banana bread together and he was very proud of himself for being able to go and get the ingredients I asked for. I measured and he poured in everything and stirred. Came out great!
Santa: We checked out the train garden at the Kenilworth Mall. Jarrett ran into Santa while eating some pizza, and wasn't very excited when he came to chat. June sat on Santa's lap for a photo, while Jarrett waved from Daddy's arms yelling, "Hi Santa!"
Bryson's Birthday: Jamal and Jarrett went to Bryson's birthday party at the National Harbor at a bounce house. Jarrett enjoyed seeing all his cousins!
Baby BSO: Since Jarrett would be aging out of the Baby BSO this year, we decided to take a family trip. Jarrett sat right down and was ready to listen to the show this time. June also enjoyed herself. Both kids were loving the music.
Christmas Tree:
Jarrett and I decorated the Christmas tree on day while June and Daddy watched. We went with the toddler friendly skinny tree that we could shove in a corner. :) Jarrett liked going through all the ornaments and telling me where to put them. He loved the tree and made sure to turn it on the second he got up every morning. He also made sure to always turn it off before we left the house!

Christmas Crafts: Jarrett worked on some Christmas ornaments to give as gifts this year. He loved painting them. June even got in on a bit of the decorating.
To be continued.....
