Spring Adventures

Since today is officially the first day of Summer, it seems appropriate to catch up on our Spring Adventures!

We were happy to have some great Spring weather and be able to spend more time outside. June loves being outside and sometimes throws an all out kicking and screaming temper tantrum when we have to go in or if she wants to go outside and we don't. We enjoyed some dinners outside and the fire pit.

We have also been trying to find different activities to keep the kids busy (and sometimes seated). Jarrett has been enjoying playing with playdoh and painting paper mache dinosaurs from Target. This is the first of 3 that we have done now!  The sandbox continues to be hit with both of the kids. Jarrett has also enjoyed playing with his legos and continues to love his train. So. Much. Train. June, on the other hand, enjoys destroying all these things he has built. We refer to her as "June-a-saurus" which usually helps Jarrett not get "too" mad when she does this. He is working on telling us to please move June before retaliating.

Jarrett always wants to "help" so he has a few tasks around the house that he routinely helps with such as emptying the dishwasher (he hands me the dishes) clearing the dinner table, vacuuming (dustbuster), feeding Harper, watering the plants and helping to cook whenever he can.

Jarrett also likes to "relax" with the "guys" before bed. The "guys," as he calls them, is his beloved Gus, the Gus lookalike (Pip), Big Doggie, Baby Doggie, Little Doggie and More Doggie. These "guys" often get carried all over the house and they all sleep with him every night and have to be arranged perfectly.

We have checked out the Science Center a few times. The first time June was just learning to walk, and the most recent time she was running around. It was funny to see everywhere she wanted to go! We made a 2nd trip on Father's Day. Jarrett had been asking to go for weeks! He kept saying, "Is the dinosaur open yet?!"

 2nd Trip

We also took Jarrett for his first Oriole's Game. June stayed with Aunt Chris while we went.  Jarrett had so much fun and lasted way longer than I expected. I think we made it through 7 innings. He loved watching the big scream and clapping and walking around. Oh, and the French fries. He was so proud to be wearing his Orioles t-shirt that he wouldn't let us zip up his sweatshirt.

We also ventured out to Longwood Gardens when the new fountains opened. Jarrett has now been here enough times that he was telling us where he wanted to go (which was cute, but limited some of our viewing!) He knew there was a kids area and he wanted to go their immediately. June was happy to go along. She loved playing in the little fountains and testing out her new skill of walking.

On Memorial Day weekend, we went to Abi's and the kids were very happy to see their friends and to play in Abi's nice playroom. Jarrett spent a good deal of time singing Karaoke with his friend Isaac. (Wheels on the Bus & Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) This is also where June seemed to perfect her skill of walking.

Since, I have also now been home from work, we have taken to going on outings in the morning. We have been the Agricultural Center a few times. Jarrett found a new little tractor to play on and June liked the tunnels.

For my birthday, we headed to Brookside Gardens, which we all had a nice time walking around. They loved looking at the turtles and had fun playing on these tree drums. We also went into a butterfly house, which June loved, but Jarrett was not a fan. I don't think he liked things flying all around his head!

We have lots more adventures to come!
